An absolutely stunning new and rare find - Kullu Rosie (also called Nirvana Quartz, Pink Ice or Himalayan Ice Quartz).
This exceptional, large crystal is a perfect specimen with absolutely no damage or chips. It is also self-healed at both ends and has the most beautiful energy and 'feel' to it. The 'notch' you can see at the top left of the main photo is a completely natural formation; common with these crystals and consistant with their growth pattern (it actually provides a convenient area to rest your thumb when holding it!)
This specimen is also an Elestial crystal, and it has two lovely, naturally polished 'window' areas on its front, which allow you to gaze inside it and it has many natural channels and grooves, which make it seem as though it has been hand carved or etched.
HISTORY: These unusual quartz crystals were discovered in late 2006 at altitudes of over 18,000 feet in the Himalayas. They have lain under sheets of glacial ice for thousands of years but due to advancing global warming, receding glaciers in this region have finally exposed these captivating, powerful crystals to the world. The crystals themselves resemble the jagged ice sheets which have concealed them for so long. They are found in white and the more expensive and sought after pink variety, which although resembling Rose Quartz, actually gets its colour from Hematite and not Titanium or Iron and Manganese so it is not Rose Quartz, but rather a pink Quartz.
NAMES: There are various other names by which this most unusual type of quartz is being marketed, including Pink Ice, Pink Ice Quartz and Nirvana Quartz. The latter, however, is merely a trademark name applied to quartz from this area which is sold by Robert Simmons in the US. Regardless of the name, if one looks like the specimen shown here and it is from the Kullu Pass in Himachal Pradesh, India, then it is one and the same crystal. It’s a case of, ‘a rose by any other name'. Perhaps the most accurate description of this crystal specimen is Himalayan Growth Interference Quartz.
DESCRIPTION: These beautiful crystals are irregularly formed, with deep channels and unusual contours - no two pieces are alike. Some found are complete chunks, whilst others have a basic wand type shape (tubular), but they lack the usual six-sided formation found with Quartz. Some are Elestial crystals with natural terminations and facets; some are quite rugged with many small channels, whilst others still have naturally smooth sides. The natural rugged shape of these crystals also closely resembles the shape of the Himalayan Mountains themselves, and whilst opaque, nearly all specimens have a small, naturally polished 'window' area somewhere on them, which allows you to peer inside, revealing their stunning, inner beauty and most unusual structure.
They are actually an interesting and unusual type of Growth Interference Quartz; their incredible and varying shapes owing to the growth of calcite or other minerals during the growth of the crystal. At some point in the crystal’s evolution and over millenia, these other minerals dissolve leaving the strangely formed quartz we see here.
METAPHYSICAL INFO: There is much written about this new and exciting find in the crystal world, and much speculation as to its properties and its appearance on the planet at this particular time of need. The locals in the area where they are found have never seen these crystals before the glacier offered them up, and they firmly believe that Lord Shiva had uncovered them now, during the troubled time of Kali Yuga (the Hindu time of darkness and destruction) on our planet to help end the Dance of Destruction and allow the goddess Parvati to instil peace once again.
They are certainly closely linked with the new energies being experienced in the world as we move closer toward Ascension and 2012, and they undoubtedly have a very high vibration. The pink specimens (as with this one) exude the energy of the Pink Ray; realm of Archangel Chamuel, Master of this the 3th Ray - the Pink Flame. He is also known as the Archangel of Love. In the realms of the 3rd Ray, alongside Archangel Chamuel we find Paul the Venetian, Ascended Master of the ray of love. He represents and resonates with beauty, the perfection of the soul through compassion, patience, understanding and self-discipline.

The most common feedback we have had about them is that they appear to have the ability to clear past emotional clutter, but at a previously unknown level. For example, it was reported to us by a lady who is quite advanced on the spiritual path, that when she first bought hers, she slept with it for several nights to attune to its energies whilst she slept. Each night in her dreams, she revisited a different phase from her past - ones where she had experienced a traumatic sitaution. She saw the events play out in her dream, just as they had in real life, but without actually reliving any of the associated painful emotion.
